Back on Xanga

Crazy! It's been almost 2 years since I last blogged and there has been so many updates on this site. It was nice having lunch with my daughter (hehe-inside joke) today. She suggested that I should start blogging once again. Well, a lot has happenend since I last blogged. Going backwards in time, I recently got engaged to the love of my life Natalie Quan on 1/1/08, started pharmacy school at WSU, island hopped in Hawaii, went to Las Vegas for New Years 2007, cruised the Eastern Caribbean.

Beat the Bridge for Juvenile Diabetes

May 21st 2006 is a very special date for anyone and everyone who has cared for or experienced a friend or loved one living with diabetes. As a healthcare employee myself, I can attest that without proper treatment and management of diabetes, it can be a disabling and even deadly disease.

I am participating in the 24th annual Nordstrom Beat the Bridge marathon run for Juvenile Diabetes. This event will be an 8K (5 mile) timed run around the Seattle, University-District area. Our team of racers must beat the University Draw Bridge (~1/2 way point) by crossing over it before it is raised 20 minutes into the race and then finish the race.

My team and I need your help to fund raise $2,500 for this event.
I know this is an incredible goal, but who knows, if we shoot for stars, maybe we'll hit the sky. Any gift great or small will be appreciated. I'll periodically post a running total of your donations on myspace. Thanks everybody!

Write checks payable to: JDFR/Beat the Bridge

Then mail the checks to me at:
PO Box 27816
Seattle. WA 98165

Or contact me on Myspace, and Ill arrange to pick up your donations personally.

All proceeds of this event will benefit juvenile diabetes research through JDRF (Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation). For more information or to register, please visit www.beatthebridge.org

Team Members (thus far): Jack, Jenn, Katrina, Rob

Happy Chinese New Year everyone!

I wish everyone good fortune, peace, happiness and the passion to achieve all things within your heart's desire. Life is short and too precious to be wasted on detrimental things like worry, regret or envy. We should surround ourselves with our loved ones and reciprocate supporting acts of kindness, compassion and humor- since we know laughter can heal even those deep invisible wounds. For many of us who have fallen short on our New Year's resolution we made back on the 1st, we can turn a new leaf and start all over again :)
